Environmentally Friendly Products
There is a misconception that green products do not work. Green chemistry used in the professional cleaning industry has evolved substantially over the last few decades. Green certified products actually clean better and safer than harsh, acidic chemicals. Common areas, offices, schools, churches and high touch points should be cleaned with a safe, effective and environmentally friendly product. At RamClean, we work with you to choose cleaning products and utilize the cleaning products that work for your facility. Features of an ideal cleaning product:
- Neutral PH that is safer for cleaners, employees and tenants
- Includes a dispenser system to control concentration and usage
- Recognized as a quality cleaner in the janitorial industry
- Green certified: Green Seal®, EcoLogo® or GreenGuard®
Chemicals - Envirox® Cleaning System
Envirox® is our recommended green cleaning product and system. We use Envirox® for most of accounts. They created the first patented hydrogen peroxide cleaning technology, which revolutionized the green cleaning industry. Envirox® is located in Danville, Illinois and we are proud to partner with another Central Illinois business to add value and performance to our janitorial services. Envirox® is made with biodegradable and plant-derived ingredients and uses post-consumer packaging. Features of the Envirox® cleaning system:
- Envirox® Multi-Purpose cleaner is Green Seal® Certified neutral pH cleaner and degreaser with a clean, light scent
- Envirox® H202 Orange Cleaner that is EcoLogo® certified is a neutral pH deodorizer, glass cleaner and tile renovator
- H₂Orange₂ Concentrate 117 is an NSF Certified and EPA approved product that is a virucide for disinfecting areas that require sanitization such as a restroom
- Dispensation system that enables us to control concentration for specific types of cleaning while ensuring we optimize product usage
Microfiber
Microfiber cloth is more expensive but actually lowers cost in the long run while ensuring your facility is cleaner. Cheap cotton cloth towels do not fully release disinfectants from our cleaning products. They do not pick up as much dirt. Using microfiber will result in a cleaner and healthier building. Other benefits of microfiber:
- Traps more particulate by holding 4X more dirt and 7X weight compared to cotton
- Decreases the spread of microorganisms
- Will not leave film like treated cotton towels
- Can effectively clean some areas without chemicals (mirrors)
- Eliminates use of dusters that just spread dust around
Entrance Matting
One of the best ways to keep a facility cleaner and healthier is to keep dirt, mud, rainwater and grime from entering the building. We do that by investing in the best quality, specialized entrance matting products we can find. 24 lbs of dirt will cost $12,000 to $48,000 to remove so if we can reduce the amount of dirt in the building we save cost in the long run. Features of a professional entrance matting system:
- Higher quality matting that is thicker and traps more dirt
- Use specialized matting systems that actually match the building type and foot traffic
- Utilize different matting for outside, foyer and inside areas
- Establish a frequent mat cleaning and replacement process
- Increase longevity of floor finish by 42%
- Reduces liability from slipping and falling
- Less fine dirt particulate improves indoor air quality
Janitorial Paper Products
Toilet tissue and hand towels are the primary paper products used in the professional commercial cleaning industry. They will make up the largest portion of your janitorial supply costs, so it is important to use the right products. We use certified products that reduce the negative impact of manufacturing on the environment. It's also important to use recycled post consumer and recovered content as opposed to virgin material. Ideal janitorial paper products should include the following specifications:
- Bathroom tissue: 20-60% post consumer and 20-100% recovered
- Paper towels: 40-60% post consumer and 40-100% recovered
- Quality is important as users will consume thin paper at a larger overall cost
