Keeping People Safe & Healthy

RamClean is on the front lines, helping to eliminate cases COVID-19 infections and reducing contraction of other virus or bacterial infections. Keep your home, office or facility clean and decontaminated with RamClean’s disinfection and cleaning services in Central Illinois and Cincinnati Tri State area.  Our cleaning staff has been trained in detailed processes and use a special virucide that sanitizes and decontaminates the area. These precautionary steps help stop the spread of coronavirus and other diseases such as the cold or flu.

Our Disinfection Process

Our process starts with a clean home or business. Disinfectants won’t stick to the surface if you have a layer of dirt. You can either schedule us to clean or we can book a time to clean shorty after your current cleaning contractor has cleaned.  Here is how the process works.

Our technician inspects the area for layers of dirt

If everything is clean, they put on PPE

A safe EPA registered chemical virucide is loaded

This solution is sprayed using an electrostatic sprayer

The fine mist is designed to cover the area and kill disease

We pay close attention to hard surfaces and high touch points.

The spray needs to settle and sit for at least 30 minutes

We recommended letting the spray dry

Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19 (PDF)

Here is a quote on cleaning the coronavirus from the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

“Current evidence suggests that novel coronavirus may remain viable for hours to days on surfaces made from a variety of materials. Cleaning of visibly dirty surfaces followed by disinfection is a best practice measure for prevention of COVID-19 and other viral respiratory illnesses in households and community settings.”

OSHA has full guidelines for your workplace but here is their statement on keeping your workplace clean.

“Maintain regular housekeeping practices, including routine cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces, equipment, and other elements of the work environment. When choosing cleaning chemicals, employers should consult information on Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-approved disinfectant labels with claims against emerging viral pathogens. Products with EPA-approved emerging viral pathogens claims are expected to be effective against SARS-CoV-2 based on data for harder to kill viruses. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use of all cleaning and disinfection products (e.g., concentration, application method and contact time, PPE).

It is also recommended to frequently wipe down common work areas and places where workers often touch, including but not limited to: tables, desks, doorknobs, elevator buttons, computer mouse, printer and keyboards using an EPA registered product from List N: Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2.

This virus is so new that it is impossible to test every single product to guarantee it kills the coronavirus with 100% certainty. We are following the official guidelines of the agencies listed above. This is what the EPA says about registered products on List N and their effectiveness on SARS-CoV-2:

“While these products have not been tested against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19, they are expected to be effective based on:

  • Demonstrated efficacy against a harder-to-kill virus;
  • Qualified for the emerging viral pathogens claim; or
  • Demonstrated efficacy against another human coronavirus similar to SARS-CoV-2.

SARS-CoV-2 is a new virus. Such pathogens are often unavailable commercially for laboratory testing.”

Champaign Area – 217-693-4963

Cincinnati Area – 513-883-7196

We provide more detailed answers in how we disinfect areas in the questions below.

The cost is $100 per hour with a $250 minimum. After we get an idea of the size and type of space, we can provide a better quote. Offices with multiple floors, cubicles, doors or tight spaces take longer than spaces that are open.

As stated above, we can disinfect for customers that use another cleaning service or we can do both the cleaning and disinfection. You must have cleaned surfaces for us to disinfect. We can’t disinfect an area that has a layer of dirt or the disinfectant will not be effective.

A study published on March 13, 2020 found that the coronavirus can survive for 72 hours on some surfaces. The virus tends to survive the longest on hard flat plastic and metal surfaces. This study was conducted by experts from the NIH, NCIRD, Princeton and UCLA. (see source above).

No.The products that we used from EPA List N and have a 10 minute dwelling time. As of March 15, 2020, there is no product or chemical that can be sprayed on any surfaced that can guarantee prevention of SARS-CoV-2.

To our knowledge, there is no product or chemical that can be safely used as a preventative to stop any virus or bacteria from spreading including the influenza virus so we do not expect a preventative cleaning product to emerge.

Surfaces get dirty, become contaminated and then need to be cleaned and disinfected. If an infected individual came into a room that was recently disinfected, they could shed the virus immediately after cleaning and leave the area contaminated.

We are following OSHA, CDC and ISSA processes and guidelines to clean all areas using products on the EPA’s List N of registered products. We are also using an electrostatic sprayer to mist/spray areas that are easy to miss by traditional cleaning methods. This also allows us to efficiently cover more surfaces, high touch points and hard to reach places that can still carry live virus.

As of 3-14-2020, we are using a commercial grade disinfectant and virucide product that was recommended from our supplier.

Triple S Ace 256 Neutral Disinfectant and Detergent.
EPA Reg No. 10324-141-12120 (You find this this on the EPA List N)

This product is designed to be utilized in a commercial electrostatic sprayer and has the following characteristics.

  • Highly concentrated – provides low end use cost.
  • Leaves no residue – Ideal for scrub and recoat programs
  • Multi-purpose cleaner – Safely and thoroughly performs all cleaning applications including removal of heavy grease and soil.
  • Fresh fragrance – leaves surfaces smelling clean
  • Neutral pH – safe on surfaces not harmed by water.
  • Safer for the end user.

We are strong advocates of using neutral pH cleaning products as they are much safer for you, your customers, guests, employees, tenants and students that come in contact with these areas of your building or home.

Our employees are critical to our operation. We have instituted recommended best practices. The applicator of disinfectant wears a protective mask. We ask our employees to frequently wash their hands. We ask them to practice social distancing as much as possible and do their best to stay 6 feet away from each (which is not always possible). Our employees are instructed to stay home if they do not feel well.

We have had a few employees test positive for COVID-19. In all cases, the employee social distanced effectively and did not spread COVID-19 to any of their team members or any other employees.  We have had administrative staff test positive without spreading the virus to other employees.  If anyone test positives, they are sent home and quarantined.  Team members or close contact employees are also quarantined.

We were looking for a service who could provide a deep cleaning, disinfecting, in our office when we had reservations. RamClean was able to work with us around flexibility, notice time, and the minimum billable hours. In this time of COVID19 RamClean has truly been a blessing for our business. We are able to tell our employees we are doing everything we can to keep them safe when they come into the office. I can't say enough about the company and their level of service. I highly recommend them!
